What is Balintawak?

Balintawak is a Filipino martial art that specializes in the use of sticks, unarmed combat and knife techniques. The system is well-suited for both beginners and advanced practitioners, providing an ideal entry into Filipino martial arts.

Developed and significantly enhanced by our Head Coach and Founder, Richard Cotterill, the style originated from the work of Bobby Taboada.

Training in Balintawak offers numerous benefits, including improved physical fitness, increased speed, coordination in typical combat movements, and sharp reflexes. Additionally, Balintawak training promotes both physical and mental endurance.

Balintawak, along with its underlying movement principles B3, is an excellent complement to existing martial arts and sports knowledge, offering new techniques and approaches.
